Curriculum
Each academic year is divided into 17 three week blocks with carefully selected rotations across multiple sites to provide a complete and robust EM education.
PGY1 - During intern year all EM blocks are at TJUH. Emphasis is on learning to provide excellent care to each individual patient. We now do longitudinal Pediatric EM over the course of intern year at St. Chris.
PGY2 - During this year 3 EM blocks are at Methodist, Paoli, and Mercy with the remainder at TJUH. Second year is where volume/patient load is increased.
PGY3 - As in second year, 3 of the EM blocks are at Methodist, Paoli, and Mercy with the remainder at TJUH. The focus is now on managing an entire section of the ED, and mentoring junior residents and students.
